Writing the Vision and Making it Plain: Part 2

January 30, 2013

Jesus the Rock, the Lamb of God

There is something to writing things down. Thoughts on a page are concrete. The written word gives direction, documentation, inspiration.

As you may have read from my first blog on this site, Baa, Baa, Black Sheep, Have You Any Wool!, the idea to paint about Jesus, the Great Shepherd, and his sheepfold – us, is almost three years old. When I launched my art ministry fundraiser to paint and draw 21 pieces via 4 Ewe and You and U, I did so with a vision. The Bible says via Habakkuk, the prophet, to write the vision and make it plain…, so I launched a website on

Since then some unique things have happened. The first three pledges all represented the unique components about the sheep in the sheepfold I wish to illustrate through art.

  • The first pledge was from my pastor, Dr. Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. The work of the Shepherd, through the shepherd, will be dealt with first.
  • The second pledge came all the way from Hämeenkyrö, Western Finland. Admittedly, I met the pledger briefly at a workshop in Raleigh last year, but the pledge represents the Nations of the sheepfold. Can’t wait to see how the work of the Holy Spirit will work through this component of the series!
  • Thirdly, the last pledge came from a congregation represented by a woman Senior pastor. Women as Shepherds is going to be a phenomenal aspect of this project! I have already lined up who I want to interview (if they agree), paint or draw. I am absolutely thrilled about this.

I have less than two weeks to meet my fundraising goal of $5,000. I see the met need swirling all around me. It’s so close I can reach out and touch it. The first week was a week of passing out handouts, answering questions, emails and answering more questions. Admittedly, if you read my blog, Writing the Vision and Making it Plain: Part 1, last week 4 Ewe and You and U received little attention from me, but trust me, I was doing other things for the Lord, in the midst of all that was happening to me personally.

So, I am back on track. Remember, God’s timing is not our timing, but move forward through faith, we must. Won’t you  consider a pledge of $5, $ $25 or $100. There are great rewards for each pledge level.  You may pledge at my site: 4 Ewe and You and U at

Thanks, again. And God bless you for your pledge.
